The agency was founded in 1976 by Thomas Hinkle, and was sold to his daughter Karyn Miller and her business partner Luke Mosch in 2007. Both Luke and Karyn have been with the agency for over 20 years, and enjoy advising clients on how to protect their lifestyle with the use of a variety of insurance options.

We not only care about our clients, but we care about our community too! Hinkle Insurance is committed to helping our community by working with local organizations to raise money and bring awareness to various causes. Food drives, toy drives, sponsorships and donating our time to help raise money are all part of what the staff at Hinkle does to give back.

Karyn Miller, CIC
Owner 

I have worked in the agency since 1986 concentrating in selling and servicing of Personal Lines and Life Insurance. In 2007 my business partner and I purchased the agency from my father, Thomas F. Hinkle.
In addition to overseeing the agency operation and staff, I truly enjoy helping my clients and building relationships with them. 

I grew up in the insurance business! My father started the agency out of my childhood home, and very often during dinner, he would have to excuse himself to take a claims report from a client. I didn't realize how much I was learning, and at the time I never thought I would be working in the insurance industry, but I am sure glad I do! I like art, skiing, Long Beach Island NJ, and the band U2. In addition to enjoying time with my husband and two children, I love hanging out with my family and friends and giving back to the community.

Education: Graduate of Manheim Township High school and Millersville University, Certified Insurance Service Representative and Certified Insurance Counselor designations.

I have worked in the agency since 1994 concentrating in selling and servicing of Business insurance. In 2007 Karyn Miller and I purchased
the agency from it’s founder, Thomas F. Hinkle.

I started my insurance career in 1989 in life insurance. From there I went to a small agency where I learned auto and homeowner’s insurance. After a few years there, I was offered the opportunity to learn about and sell business insurance. In 1994 I found that Erie Insurance was my main competitor. Every night on my way home from work I passed the Hinkle Insurance Agency, who I knew represented Erie Insurance. Curiosity finally got the better of me and I stopped in to see if they needed someone to help them sell business insurance. I was in luck, Hinkle Insurance had a need that I could fill and to top it all off, I was a grad of PSU and Tom Hinkle was a Penn State fanatic. I found that The Hinkle Insurance Agency was a great place to work and Erie Insurance was a great company to represent. I am very proud to be one of the owners of the second generation of the Hinkle Insurance Agency.

I am married to my wife, Debra, a nurse and we have 4 children. When I’m not working I enjoy time with my family. In the winter we usually make few trips to the Poconos to ski and we usually make it to the beach a few times in the summer. The kid’s extra curricular activities usually have us running one place or another. When I have time to myself, I enjoy fly fishing for trout and training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Education: Graduate of Coudersport High school and the Pennsylvania State University. Certified Insurance Counselor designation.

Lynda Evans

I began working at the Hinkle Agency on a part time basis as I eased back into the workforce after being a stay-at-home mom to my son, Keith.  I eventually got licensed and began working fulltime.  I sell and service life insurance, automobile, and homeowners insurance.  I just celebrated 22 years of service in November of 2012!  I enjoy chatting with my clients which is what I love most about my job!! It’s very easy for me to forget that the client sitting in my office with me is there to take care of insurance business and not there just for a visit! I enjoy working at the Hinkle Agency because of that personal interaction we enjoy with our clients. It’s a great fit for me!

In my spare time, I enjoy participating in Women’s Bible Studies and various other activities at my church. My husband, Rick, and I are having lots of fun together as “empty nesters”.  We enjoy playing cards together, photography, traveling, discovering new restaurants, and spending time with our family and friends. I enjoy cooking and I still get a real thrill from cooking a meal for my son and his wife!

Ann Hinkle, CIC

Ann’s husband Tom Hinkle started the agency in 1976. She later became licensed and joined the agency in 1980. Ann is a true professional, having earned her Certified Insurance Counselor designation in the late 1990’s. Ann now works for her daughter Karyn Miller and Karyn’s business partner Luke Mosch. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, skiing, and driving her 1956 Thunderbird.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Erin Hendrix

I began working at Hinkle Insurance Agency as an intern in the summer of 2008, and received my insurance license in the fall of the same year. I am currently training to be a Commercial Insurance Service Agent. Outside of work, I attend Eastern University, majoring in Business Administration. I enjoy traveling around the world, especially since I was born and raised all over the place! I also take pleasure in curling up with a book on a miserable day, and watching movies. Shopping is always enjoyable to me, and most of all, I love doing anything with my friends.
